Wisconsin man dies, woman injured in multi-vehicle crash: Sheriff's Office

IOWA COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - A 48-year-old Wisconsin man died Friday night following a multi-vehicle crash on US Highway 18/151 in Iowa County.

According to the sheriff's office , emergency crews were initially dispatched around 8:40 p.m. on October 2 for a report of a single-vehicle crash in the ditch near mile marker 55 in the Town of Ridgeway. Shortly after, dispatchers received additional calls reporting that a person had been struck by a vehicle at the scene.

Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Preliminary investigation revealed that 48-year-old Collin Giddings of Ridgeway was driving a 2012 Honda Accord east on the highway when his vehicle left the road and entered the ditch.

A short time later, Giddings re-entered the eastbound lanes, where his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 22-year-old Verona man. Giddings's Accord was then struck a second time by a 2017 Toyota Prius V, driven by a 61-year-old Fitchburg woman.

The impact of the collisions ejected Giddings from his vehicle. Iowa County Coroner Wendell Hamlin pronounced him dead at the scene.
