Dominant first and fourth quarters led the Minnesota Timberwolves past the Milwaukee Bucks 116-97 in their preseason opener.
Minnesota outscored Milwaukee 66-41 in the first and fourth quarters. The Wolves were outscored 56-50 in the middle two quarters.
Anthony Edwards led the Pack with 14 points, four rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in 18 minutes of game action. Joan Beringer added 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench while Antonio Reeves also dropped 12 points. LaMelo Ball chipped in 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
The Wolves shot 46 percent (40-87) from the field, 26 percent (9-35) from three-point range, and 79 percent (29-34) from the free throw line. Minnesota improved to 1-0 in preseason play.
The Pack will return home to Target Center for the first time this preseason on Wednesday, October 7 to square off with the Indiana Pacers. The tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. with full game coverage available on NBA TV.
