The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department has made several arrests, including a woman accused of kicking an emergency room nurse in the face.
Sheriff Brian Williams said that on September 7, 42-year-old Melissa A. Walters of Midway Road was arrested for assaulting a first responder. She is under a $3,500 bond, and her court date is October 1.
Sheriff Williams said a deputy placed Walters under arrest after she allegedly kicked an emergency room nurse in the face while she was bent over picking something up that she had dropped, knocking her glasses off her face.
That same day, a married couple was arrested for assaulting each other during a domestic dispute. Sheriff Williams said that 33-year-old Ann Kathrine Williams and 34-year-old Timothy Keith Williams of Mill Street, Dowelltown, were each arrested for domestic assault. Each is on bond of $2,500.
Sheriff Williams said that the couple got into an argument that became physical when Ann Williams allegedly began biting and punching Timothy, claiming it was in self-defense.
