YMCA Block Party brings Milton families together despite rainy weather

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Rain changed the location, but it did not stop families from coming together for the YMCA of Northern Rock County’s third annual Block Party on Sunday.

The free community event at the Parker YMCA was moved indoors because of the weather. Families still came out for games, activities and a chance to connect with others in the Milton community.

For Milton parent Brooks Gallman, the event was an opportunity to get his two children out of the house and around other families.

“We were super glad that the event still happened, even with all the weather happening today,” Gallman said. “We were just super excited to bring the kids out so that they could, you know, meet some other kids, run around and just have a good time.”

Gallman said he believes the turnout despite the rain reflects the close relationships within the community.

“I think that’s a testament to Milton as a community,” Gallman said. “We’re known for being a really tight-knit community that really loves to get out and get together.”
