York's Cornerstone Kings staged a dramatic comeback to secure a 13-7 victory over Holdrege in the second day of the Class B Senior Legion State Tournament's National Division. The game featured a back-and-forth battle, with both teams exchanging leads throughout the contest.
The Kings started strong, scoring four runs in the first inning against Holdrege's pitcher Kegan Steinke. Holdrege responded with a single run in the bottom half. The game remained tied through the next two innings, despite Holdrege threatening with multiple runners in scoring position, only to be thwarted by York's pitcher Hayden Coffin.
In the fourth inning, Inspire Rehab (Holdrege) rallied, loading the bases with one out. A critical two-run single by Trey Weaver put them ahead 4-3. The game remained close until the fifth inning, when Holdrege took the lead again, capitalizing on key hits and walks to push their advantage to 7-4.
However, York's offense ignited in the final two innings, scoring nine runs to overhaul the lead and secure a commanding 13-7 win. Inspire Rehab was unable to respond in the bottom of the seventh, ending their season with an 18-8 record.
